Mouthguards

A mouthguard is a specially made, flexible rubber-like cover which fits exactly over your teeth and gums, cushioning them and protecting them from damage.

The dental profession unanimously supports the use of mouthguards in a variety of sports activities - from cricket and hockey to football and rugby.

If you or your child participates in any kind of physical sport there is a risk of dental damage.  Essentially, mouthguards are the crash helmets of the teeth.  Being accidentally caught in the face by a squash racket or falling awkwardly across show jumping poles can cause more damage to the teeth than any blow from a boxing glove.

Chilwell dp is able to provide well-designed custom-made mouhguards that provide superb protection and comfort for people who enjoy any type of sporting activity.  Although mouthguards are not available on the NHS, when you consider the cost of expensive dental work and the risk of missing teeth, it is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
